How quickly I moved up in the company.

What are three words to describe EXCEL?

Opportunities, professional, friendly

What is your favorite part or project working at EXCEL?

No favorite project to speak of, but my favorite part is being in a position to help people grow and develop their careers.

How has EXCEL helped develop your career?

EXCEL has given me opportunities to learn, grow, and apply my military standards to help improve throughout the years.

What drew you to EXCEL originally? And how has the company changed?

A job paying more than the last job is what brought me here. But, what has kept me here are the people and the opportunities to advance.

What do you like most about EXCEL?

Excel is one of few companies that I’m familiar with that work with probationers and parolees to help them be successful after incarceration. More companies should be like that.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Respect the process. Adjusting to the hours and the work environment is not easy, but it’s worth it if you apply yourself.

What would you do for a career if you weren’t in your current role?

I would be at another company contributing to their success and helping build the career of others.

What are your hopes for our industry?

Continued growth and success

Who/what inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

God is my inspiration. I didn’t pursue this as a career. I feel like it pursued me, and I’m good at it.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

To trust my instincts

What is the toughest challenge you have had in your career? How did you overcome it?

It’s the personalities of those at the job that pose the biggest challenge. I focus on the task and goals.

What is something on your bucket list?

There is no bucket.

What is your personal motto or mantra?

Compete!

What are three hashtags to describe yourself?

#blaqexcellence #diligence #greatness
