Project Description

EXCEL identified and solved many obstacles during multiple scope reviews resulting in cost savings in materials and manhours. The unique challenges associated with this project were the transportation of personnel, materials, and equipment from the U.S. mainland to the island. Transporting 35 professional staff and over 180 craftsmen from 22 states to St. Croix and their subsequent transportation between housing and the refinery required constant communication, strategic planning sessions, dual work shifts, and spot overtime to manage the schedule and labor costs. Safety programs, safety training, daily safety audits, daily JSAs, and EXCEL's Empowerment for Safety program were site-specific. They led to the successful execution of over 80,000 manhours without an OSHA recordable incident.

EXCEL Group was contracted to carry out the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) tasks, which included installing critical systems to support the new equipment.

Cameron LNG

EXCEL provided E&I installation for Cameron LNG's Train 3. The project included 588,531 man-hours to install 34.5kv, 15kv, 5kv, 480v and UPS power distribution, instrument DCS and control systems, instrument and device installation and check-out.
